*** Important Notice ***
We are extremely short staffed in our Patient Services Team, these are the staff who take calls and assist patients at our front reception desk. We need to inform you that you may wait longer than normal to have your call answered or to talk to a member of staff when you attend our surgeries.
We can appreciate that this is very frustrating for our patients, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Covid Vaccination and Flu Clinics
Covid Spring Booster Vaccine
Spring Booster COVID vaccine clinics will be held on the following dates at Buckingham Community Centre:
We will be inviting patients who are eligible for a Spring Booster from next week via text or phone call - please wait for us to contact you.
Eligible patients include:
- people aged 75 years and over (including those turning 75 before 30th June 2022)
- people aged 18 years and above with a weakened immune system
We will be arranging visits for housebound and care home patients in due course as well.
The Joint Committee on Vaccinations and Immunisations (JCVI) advise waiting until around six months since the last dose of a COVID vaccine to gain maximum effectiveness; however, in line with the National Booking System, you will be able to book your Spring Booster from 3 months since your last vaccine.
Alternatively, patients are welcome to book their appointment via the National Booking System instead and attend the local mass vaccination centres. Click here to book a Spring Booster via the National Booking Service: Book or manage a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
We will also continue to offer 1st, 2nd and 3rd doses to patients aged over 18. It is likely that we will be giving the Moderna vaccine at these clinics hence we cannot invite patients aged under 18.
For children aged 12-17, please use the National Booking System to arrange your vaccine.
For children aged 5-11 who are immunosuppressed, please contact the Practice for a letter in order to book these appointments elsewhere.
Thank you for your patience during this very busy time for the Practice.
NHS Covid Pass
If you have vaccine information missing from your Covid pass and you did not have your vaccine with The Swan Practice please contact 119 and speak to the Vaccine Resolution Service who will be able to help with missing or incorrect vaccine details. We cannot help you with this unfortunately.
Digital NHS COVID Pass is now available to children aged 12 to 15
The NHS COVID Pass service is now available to 12-15 year olds, accessible via NHS.UK for those aged 12 and over, and the NHS App for those aged 13 and over. This is an addition to the letter service via 119 that was launched in December.
Both the digital (App and NHS.uk) and letter NHS COVID Pass are widely accepted for international travel. It provides a record of all COVID-19 vaccinations received, with the digital Pass showing evidence of recovery for 180 days following a positive test. International travellers should check the entry requirements of the country they are visiting as requirements for testing and vaccination can vary from country to country.
As well as accessing their NHS COVID Pass, the NHS App will allow 13 to 15 year olds to access other non-personalised services such as Health A-Z, organ donation and 111 online. The NHS App will withhold a child’s medical data unless they have undergone a Gillick competency assessment with a medical professional.
